Located east of Seattle and remodeled  from an old horse barn on the property, the Play Barn is a small structure that will work hard as guest quarters, play area for the owner's young children, exercise space, an office and entertaining space. Folding doors and windows will open both floors to the outside.  Concrete walls on the exterior are used for their simple and elemental quality and also for practical reasons, as one wall of the building will have a basketball hoop under an extension of the roof to accommodate games even in rainy weather.  The simplicity of the exterior will contrast with a lush and colorful interior housing art pieces collected from around the world.
