FAIA / Founding Partner
Mary Johnston, Founding Partner, believes design can change lives, and she has spent more than 40 years proving it. A frequent juror for design competitions nationwide, Mary has also led studios and lectures at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments for over two decades. Through these roles, she shares her values around ethical, responsible architecture and its power to tell meaningful stories. Committed to design excellence, Mary has chaired the Seattle Design Commission, served as President of AIA Seattle, sits on the board of the Methow Conservancy, and is a past board member of Yellowstone Forever. When she isn’t teaching, mentoring, or designing, Mary loves to garden, craft delicious home-cooked meals, travel with her husband Ray, and spend time with her grandson.
