Miner’s Refuge

Miner’s Refuge takes cues from the Methow Valley’s mining history and rugged landscape. The telescoping entry recalls the portals of hillside mines.

Inside, windows frame aspen groves, meadows, and mountain peaks. The structure is deeply anchored into the topography, with protected outdoor spaces that extend living into the landscape. The design celebrates the site’s raw character while providing durable, quiet refuge.
