Set on a coastal ridge nearly 400 feet above sea level, the Pacifica House overlooks the town below and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The house follows the contours of the hillside, stepping with the terrain and recessing in places to reduce its visual impact. This terraced approach allows the building to take in long views while remaining closely tied to the land.
The plan is organized around family life and shared meals. A roof plane extends beyond the kitchen to shelter an outdoor cooking and dining area, establishing the kitchen as the social center of the house. The home accommodates a family of four, with additional spaces for guests, while also supporting the owners’ interest in hosting cooking demonstrations and teaching sessions.
