Snowbrush
The conceptual design for Snowbrush is organized around a glass-framed interior living space wrapped by a protective structural layer. This outer structure creates a covered outdoor zone that can be used year-round, expanding how the house is occupied without increasing enclosed area. Views are carefully framed to focus attention within the immediate site while allowing the surrounding landscape to remain present at the periphery.
Planned for Washington’s Methow Valley, where wildfire risk has increased in recent decades, the house applies Firewise principles throughout. Pre-weathered corrugated metal cladding provides durability and protection from fire, snow, and smoke, reinforcing the home’s resilience in a demanding environment.
