JA's Winthrop Library Featured in Buildings for Books

Buildings for books features images of the winthrop library by benjamin drummond

The Winthrop Library, designed by Johnston Architects in collaboration with Prentiss Balance Wickline Architects, is featured in Buildings for Books, a new collection of library buildings from around the globe, published by Braun Publishing.

"Inspired by the agrarian buildings in the region, [the Winthrop Library] includes broad overhangs and open roof trusses, and the massing suits the community's aesthetic." ⁣

The building includes spaces for lectures, meetings, and a makerspace provides 3D printers and sewing machines. Computers, printers, and free internet are available. The library is the result of public/private partnerships.
