Seattle Humane

Seattle Humane’s mission to care for animals in need was being constrained by a small, outdated facility. At 57,000 SF, this new building increased capacity by 35%, enabling the organization to better serve both pets and the surrounding community. The upper floor houses staff offices and a dedicated community education center, featuring a large, flexible space for pet training, animal safety workshops, and public outreach events. To ensure uninterrupted operations during construction, the new building was carefully located adjacent to the existing shelter, allowing Seattle Humane to remain fully functional throughout construction. Additional features include a retail pet supply store and a fully equipped veterinary hospital, operated in collaboration with the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine—further strengthening Seattle Humane’s capacity to deliver compassionate, comprehensive care
