Operations Center
As the administrative hub and materials management facility for 15 regional sites, this client required strategic guidance on whether to remodel their existing space or relocate. In 2019, JA conducted a comprehensive space needs assessment, engaging with directors from 10 departments to evaluate staff sizes, space requirements, and critical team adjacencies. This effort was supplemented by site visits, programming sessions, and ongoing consultations with staff. JA’s analysis concluded that relocating to a new facility would better serve the client’s operational needs. Subsequently, JA performed test fits on several prospective buildings in the area to assess suitability for tenant improvements. The resulting JA-designed operations center features flexible collaboration zones, dedicated break and wellness rooms, private offices, conference rooms, a welcoming lobby, and a maintenance shop tailored for the organization’s vehicles and equipment, delivering a highly functional, futureready workplace—all within the shell of a vacant ‘big box’ store.
